Don't worry: leggings can look great on every body type!
Everyone loves
this trend because it's comfortable for your busy day, and layers allow
versatility during changing weather in spring and fall. Use these
style tips when pairing leggings for your shape, and accent the
positive.
- Balance prints & solids - if you go for printed bottoms layer 1 or 2 solids on top, when you pick solid bottoms, add printed or textured details on top.
- Length is key - leggings are not pants, cover your rear with longer tunic tops, vest, skirt or dress. Petite women look best in full length rather than shorter capri.
- Layer - use a scarf or vest, or add an open shirt or jacket. Start with a loosely skimming top, add light flowing fabrics so you don't start to look bulky or boxed.
- Shoes set your tone - ballet flats look polished, pumps are retro glam, ankle or knee high boots are perfect for spring or fall (and balance for apple shapes), strappy sandals scream summer casual, but stay away from stilettos or wedges. For an athleisure look - grab your favorite sneakers or high tops.
- Accessorize - statement jewellery counts as a layer, try a cross body bag or scarf, keep the overall look cohesive, but not bulky.
 |
Apple - skim curves in thigh length tunic, boots or heavier looking
shoes create balance, accessories bring attention to your face with statement necklaces or a scarf. |
 |
Pear - bring attention upwards with a bright or printed
tunic top. Again accessories
can help balance an outfit. A tunic style top that covers your bottom
should fall to the widest part of your hips. |
 |
Hourglass - belted tunics will accentuate your
feminine waistline. Leggings in smaller, tight prints or dark solids are
flattering. If you are tall, a mini dress looks great over leggings. |
 |
Athletic - flowing fabrics and belted tunics will accentuate your
waistline. Use contrasting colours to help create the illusion of curves, or tops in varied lengths. |
