Spring 2016 Flows with Colour

This summer's colours are much easier to wear than some previous years, but that always depends on your skin tone. Welcome spring with Pantone's fresh pallet to "transcend cultural and gender norms. Vivid brights give way to excitement and optimism"

What I find very interesting is how these were seen in the long-term colour story put forth in 2015 Trend Forecast predicting the upcoming 2017 season.

Some well placed colour selections this year will serve you well in the future. Invest in clothing pieces you love, rather than filling landfills with disposable fashion.

Of course we all have favorites, mine are;
  • Peach Echo - a friendlier, easier to wear version of orange that looks great with the colours of the year rose quartz/serenity and of course greys.
  • Snorkle Blue - a softer, happier navy whose "name alone implies a relaxing vacation and encourages escape." Wear it with buttercup, iced coffee or peach echo, and nothing reflects summer better than blue and white.
  • Limpet Shell - I saved my fav for last, invoking clarity and freshness, it has modern influences while remaining soothing. You will love it with iced coffee, peach echo or soft pinks. I even have it in my laundry room.

Thanks as always to Leatrice Eiseman Executive Director, Pantone Color Institutefor her insights, and inspiring our fashions.

This will hold you until fall when you will be anxious to bring new muted tones to your wardrobe, this might be your year to leave black behind.
